Introduction

Finance and Audit wing is an integral part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission constituted under section 11(1)(d) of the KPEC Act, 2014, headed by the Director Finance and Audit. The wing prepares annual budget, maintains complete and accurate books of account as prescribed by rules. The detailed account of expenditure in prepared by the Finance and Audit Wing for accounting process and production to audit. The Director Finance and Audit assists and advises the Director General regarding all financial matters. Finance and Audit wing comprises of Deputy Director Finance, Deputy Director Forensic Accounting, six Assistant Directors and three Accountants.

Functions

1.
Prepare annual budget of the Ehtesab Commission and analyze the budget variances
2.
Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts for the Commission
3.
Conduct review of the financial information, compliance with applicable laws and policies
4.
Ensure integrity and reliability of data by developing and implementing financial accounting system
5.
Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the Commission
6.
Resolve accounting discrepancies including  annual and inventory accounts
7.
Liaison with all Directorate Gerneral wings regarding Finance and Audit matters
8.
Prepare and execute the procurement / tendering procedures for the Commission
9.
Liaison with AG office, banks and financial institutions regarding disbursements and other operational matters
10.
Prepare and execute (risk based) internal audit plan of the Commission
11.
Plan, and conduct multiple complex audit assignments i.e. compliance, forensic, and value for money
12.
Maintain and administer follow-up data bases for audit recommendations and action plans
13.
Coordinate with the External Auditor (Auditor General office) for timely completion of audit procedures
14.
